Music
Years 5 & 6
This lesson focuses on the traditional Indonesian musical instrument, the Angklung.
The Angklung is made out of Bamboo and is only one instrument out of a variety of traditional Indonesian instruments that are often played together in a Gamelan, a group of instruments.
In this lesson, students are introduced to Indonesian music, specifically the Angklung, and work together using ICT to familiarise themselves and experiment with the unique style of Indonesian music.


Visual Art
Years 3 & 4
This lesson focuses on the Asian Art of Chinese Paint Brushing and Calligraphy.
Chinese Paint Brushing and Calligraphy, otherwise known as artful writing, has been considered the art form of the educated elite since the Han Dynasty. In those days, Chinese calligraphy was also an important accessed component in civil service exams.
In this lesson, students learn about Chinese paint brushing and calligraphy; the skills and techniques involved and the meaning and history behind it.

Drama
Years 1 & 2
This lesson focuses on India's Bollywood Dancing.
Bollywood Dancing, originating from traditional Indian dance, has become popular in Indian films with the hero and/or heroine performing a dance sequence with a group of backup dancers that help portray an emotion, message, internal thought of a character that helps to move the plot line along.
In this lesson, students will be introduced to the meaning of movement and the hand gestures used in bollywood dancing.
